JUDGES CRITIQUE
Blue Tabby Point. A well grown eleven month old male showing a good strong broad rounded skull and well placed ears of medium size. Large, almost round eyes, wonderful deep blue colour and surrounded by blue spectacles. Slight dip present to the medium length nose, very small drop off towards the tip. Chin could be a touch firmer to really balance the rest of the head though the bite was level. Long body, typically a little adolescent and rangy as expected at this stage of development, though he has a very muscular feel to him. Balanced limbs, good solid boning, medium in length and leading to short strong paws. Bushy tail, in proportion with the body. Long full coat, very nice silky feel to it, full ruff framing the face. Bluish white body colour, some slightly darker top shading down the back. Quite a deep shade of blue markings contrasting with the light beige agouti ground colour. Well marked mask including an ‘M’ on the forehead, spectacles and spotted whisker pads, with thumb prints to the ears. Broken stripes were present on the limbs and he had a nicely ringed tail. Right glove could have a little more white for perfection on the inner toe, though it was acceptable. The gloves angled outwards. Socks covered the back feet and were quite even in length. Left gauntlet was full, though rounded in shape at the end rather than truly tapering. Left glove tapered well and both ended about halfway up to the hocks. A promising youngster who was great to handle and very well presented.

CLASS 134a TABBY/TORTIE TABBY BIRMAN ADULT MALE
CC, FRANCIS’ NORVIN ROYALPRIDE, 13c12, BLUE TABBY POINT, 07.06.08
An extremely handsome youngster, of most pleasing Birman type. His skull is broad and rounded, full cheeks taper gently to a firm chin, level bite. Medium sized ears are placed well apart and show delicate thumb marks. Medium length nose with gentle dip to the profile, flattering butterfly marking under the nose, adding to his appeal. I loved his gorgeous expression, his deep blue eyes are almost round and framed by light coloured spectacle markings. Excellent body size and structure already, with a firm muscular feel to the body, thick set limbs and short paws, his tail is reasonable length and displaying rings on the underside. Sparkling white feet markings, gloves are almost level albeit the right front has a minimal amount of white on the inner toe, and his gauntlets are medium in length and rounded, left is a little more untidy. Striking blue tabby markings, that contrast well with his soft and expertly presented pale bluish white coat, the head shows some colour over the top of the forehead, I hope this doesn’t go too far as a hooded appearance will detract from his overall look. Wonderful nature, great to handle.

A handsome young fellow who I have had the pleasure of judging before. Very good Birman type, the skull is broad and rounded, his full cheeks taper gently to a firm chin and his bite is level. Well placed medium sized ears with delicate thumb marks. Medium length nose with gentle dip to the profile. Expressive deep blue eyes, almost round in shape and framed by light coloured spectacle markings. Well grown and well proportioned youngster, firm and solid feel to the body, thick set limbs and short paws, his tail is bushy and shows light rings on the underside, could be a fraction longer for perfection. Sparkling white feet markings, his right front inner toe shows some white, but it is low, whilst his gauntlets need a little teasing into a perfect shape. Well presented, if a little short, bluish white coat that is showing some surface shading already, striking blue tabby markings contrast well, albeit the blue colour on the head is extending past the ears a little more than the ideal. Very relaxed temperament.
